Biography
Recognised for his unusual warmth of sound and presence, baritone Drew Santini is active singing concerts and opera on both sides of the Atlantic. Comfortable in repertoire of many periods, he is particularly enthusiastic about a full 19/20 season in which he’ll sing music from J.S. Bach to Philip Glass. The season opens appropriately with Beginnings -- a project with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging under the direction of Shunske Sato with three early Bach cantatas and other music that inspired Bach in the early part of his life. In the autumn Drew will cover the role of Don Giovanni under conductor Kenneth Montgomery and The Orchestra of the 18th Century. Winter brings a tour of Handel’s Messiah with Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht under the direction of Johannes Leertouwer with a tour around
