Biografia
Mexican tenor, Luis Chapa made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Pinkerton in Anthony Minghella’s production of Madama Butterfly in the 2017/18 season. Praised for his “mellifluous, stupendously-powerful” voice, Chapa is known for his Verdi roles and other such dramatic repertoire. Recent highlights include title role Stiffelio at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, title role Andrea Chenier and Canio Pagliacci at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Don José Carmen at the National Theatre in Prague, Radames Aida at Opera North, Teatro Wielki Poland and the Roman Amphitheatre Arena Pula for the Croatian National Theatre Rijeka. In the 2019/20 season Chapa makes debuts at Portland Opera as Pinkerton and at Israeli Opera as Canio. He will also appear at Grange Park Opera in a major role in future
