Nazan Fikret was born in the UK to Turkish and Irish parents. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Penelope Mackay and later Yvonne Kenny. Nazan is a former Making Music AYCA Winner, Concordia Foundation Artist, a Britten Pears Young Artist and a recipient of an International Opera Awards Bursary. Highlights in recent seasons include, Arasse Siroe, re de Persia for the Nederlandse Reisopera; Euridice Orfeo ed Euridice and Karolka Jenůfa for Longborough Festival Opera; Queen of the Night Die Zauberflöte for Garsington Opera and Rota das Artes, Lisbon; Fiordiligi Così fan tutte for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra / European Opera Centre; and How the Whale Became by Julian Philips at the Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre.
