Recent reviews have called her “extraordinary” (European Pressphoto Agency) and “a Star”: (Wall Street Journal). After her debut in June 2016 at the Perm Opera as Violetta in La Traviata with rising-star conductor, Teodor Currentzis, in a production by Robert Wilson, Rebecca Nelsen began the 2016/17 season with performances of Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata at the Vienna Volksoper. In November 2016 she made her debut with the Malmö Opera where she starred as Susanna in a new, critically acclaimed production of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro directed by Peter Stein. Further appearances this season include a role debut as Rosina, Annina Giró in a new production of Vivaldi - The Four Seasons and revivals as Pamina, Adele, and Laura in Der Bettelstudent all at the Vienna Volksoper.
