Biography
As a regular principal performer on the Sydney Opera House stage, Anna Dowsley has established herself as one of the most exciting and versatile mezzo sopranos to emerge from Australia in recent years. Highlights on the stage include debuting the roles of Cherubino and Dorabella in two new Sir David McVicar productions of Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte. Other roles performed with Opera Australia include Rosina, Zaida, Tebaldo, Siebel and Papagena. This season, highlights for Anna include a debut of the title role Lucretia, and performing Geneviève under Charles Dutoit in a concert version of Pelléas and Mélisande.
