Dans le New York des années 1930, la machine à rêves de Broadway tourne à plein régime et il est dur de s’y faire une place. La jeune et talentueuse Peggy Sawyer tente sa chance au sein d’une compagnie qui monte un nouveau spectacle, Pretty Lady. Mais il n’est pas facile de devenir une star !
Cette comédie musicale, qui fit sensation dès son lever de rideau devenu iconique, retrace les coulisses du show business. L’envers du décor n’est pas toujours rose mais l’amour du spectacle et du métier est plus fort que tout. The show must go on !
