Bibbona. An exciting and engaging musical journey through the life and works of Pietro Mascagni, the composer from Livorno known throughout the world for his masterpiece Cavalleria rusticana, a work with which he inaugurated the verist genre in the history of melodrama: the Mascagni Festival proposes it with the opera concert "A stage at the opera", scheduled for Friday 5 August at 9.00 pm in Piazza della Vittoria in the historic center of Bibbona. "We stop in Bibbona thanks to the interest and involvement of the Municipality of the beautiful town of Livorno which, together with the Island of Capraia, have decided to share with us the path of the #terremascagnane project - says the Artistic Director of the Festival Marco Voleri - Impossible to think to Pietro Mascagni and not imagine the involvement of the territories of the Livorno province, facts of great history, food and wine, breathtaking views. And again, stories, moments to discover and share in the name of music. For the second consecutive year, the Mascagni Festival is so pleased to offer itself to an ever wider audience, with the aim of combining tourism and culture, in the name of a composer who has a lot to give and tell. And we do it with our artists specially selected and trained with the Mascagni Academy ".
The protagonists of the evening are the soprano Noemi Umani, the mezzo-soprano Emma Mc Dermott and the tenor Vladimir Reutov; Massimo Salotti at the piano with the EtruriaMusica Ensemble, an artistic reality born in 2008 thanks to the meeting of young musicians from multiple solo, chamber and orchestral experiences in Italy and abroad and today requested for numerous events in prestigious venues, so much so that boast over 500 concerts and musical performances.
From the first works of the musician from Labra (Cavalleria rusticana, L'amico Fritz, Guglielmo Ratcliff), we will move on to those of maturity (Iris), with the actor Guglielmo Favilla who will enrich the artistic itinerary of Mascagnano with information on his rich human personality; also on the program are excerpts from the most famous works by contemporary authors, starting with Giacomo Puccini.
