Considered the greatest musical success of Pablo Luna throughout his career, this operetta was released at the end of 1923 in this same theater. Many consider it the best of his scores, also supported by a curious and fun libretto. After its premiere, the title traveled to Cuba, Mexico and continued its life cycle on the stage until the 1950s. According to its stage director, Enrique Viana, "approaching Benamor has been a pleasure, and that the Teatro de la Zarzuela decided to put it on back on stage (it had not been performed in this theater since its premiere), a dream. A happy dream that is the best medicine for the nightmarish times we are living.
