Silence. An expanse of water. In the middle, alone, the top of a bell tower. A bell tolls… is Curon's warning. In 1950, the village in Val Venosta was displaced and then completely submerged due to the construction of a large dam, and the protests of the inhabitants were of no avail. The OHT (Office for a Human Theatre) project narrates the drama through the intertwining of visual and auditory stimuli: the images of the bell tower are accompanied by the compositions Fratres and Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten by Arvo Pärt, performed by the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento. No word is uttered, everything is silent on the surface of the water: only sound and images for the suffering of Curon, in an attempt to bring the theater closer to its deepest root, silence.

Il silenzio. Una distesa d’acqua. In mezzo, solitaria, la cima di un campanile. Una campana rintocca… è il monito di Curon. Nel 1950, il paesino della Val Venosta venne sfollato e poi completamente sommerso a causa della costruzione di una grande diga, e a nulla valsero le proteste degli abitanti. Il progetto di OHT (Office for a Human Theatre) narra il dramma attraverso l’intreccio di stimoli visivi e auditivi: le immagini del campanile, sono accompagnate dalle composizioni Fratres e Cantus in memory of Benjamin Britten di Arvo Pärt, eseguite dall’Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento. Non è profferita parola, sul pelo dell’acqua tutto tace: solo suono e immagini per la sofferenza di Curon, nel tentativo di riavvicinare il teatro alla sua radice più profonda, il silenzio.
