International splendour meets brilliant internationality on the Rhine: this year's gala of the Friends of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein promises musical fireworks and very big feelings. The renowned soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who is at home at leading stages such as La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Vienna State Opera or at the Salzburg Festival, presents a cross-section of the most beautiful and well-known arias of the Italian and French opera repertoire, including works by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Pietro Mascagni, Jules Massenet and Georges Bizet.

She will be supported by ensemble members of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein such as Anna Harvey, Eduardo Aladrén and Bogdan Baciu under the musical direction of General Music Director Axel Kober on the podium of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The popular musician and presenter Götz Alsmann will lead through the evening in his tried and tested witty and expert manner.

Following the concert, the members of the Circle of Friends and their guests will end the evening together with the artists and the management team at a reception. Members will receive an invitation in good time.
