Soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer is electric in the title role of Beethoven's operatic masterpiece, Fidelio, live recorded on Boston Baroque's stage with period instruments. Florestan, played by tenor William Burden, is held captive as a political prisoner. His wife, determined to free him, disguises herself as a young man named Fidelio in the hopes of freeing Florestan from his imprisonment at last.
