This name can be trusted: Those who expect a musical romanticism reminiscent of "Der Freischütz" in Carl Maria von Weber's second clarinet concerto, one of the showpieces for virtuoso and expressive instrumentalists, are not mistaken. Even the dark atmosphere of the Wolf's Glen can be sensed in the second movement.
