The work has a very long and rich history. Rossini wrote an opera to Pierre Beaumarchais' comedy of the same name in 1816 in less than 20 days. A couple of weeks later, the first performance took place, disrupted by clackers and Paisiello fans. However, the failure of the premiere did not confuse either the artists or the production team, and they continued to work on the play, which eventually forever immortalized their names in the theatrical sphere.

 

The opera was first presented to the Kazakh audience in 1972, also on the stage of GATOB, with the People's Artist of the USSR Yermek Serkebayev in the title role. And now, many years later, the Barber is back on our stage. In the new stage solution of the production group of conductor Vittorio Parisi, familiar to the Almaty public from the production of the opera "Rigoletto", director Christine Hucke and artist Patricio Perez, the opera will sound in the original version, in which the maestro opened previously unperformed scenes.
