La bohème Puccini

Adapted from Scenes from the Bohemian Life of Henry Murger, the work appeared in serial form in the Parisian newspaper Le Corsaire between 1845 and 1849 and was performed shortly afterwards in dramatic form at the Théâtre des Variétés. Puccini's version gives rise to the fragile figure of Mimi. The general public sees in it the image of a whole era, that of the Paris of carefree student and artistic youth at the turn of the century. Debussy himself said "I don't know anyone who described the Paris of that time as well as Puccini in La Bohème ». Beyond realism, Puccini is above all a master in the art of constructing a melodic plot of great intensity and generous lyricism. To play the Mimi-Rodolfo couple, the young Selene Zanetti who has already shone in this role in Venice, Stuttgart and Naples, and the Samoan tenor Pene Pati, who recently triumphed at the Paris Opera in The Elixir of love and Romeo at the Opera-Comique. Trust the boss of the "Frenchman" Eric Ruf to offer an original vision of the 19th century Paris and the young conductor Lorenzo Viotti - he is 31 years old - to galvanize the musical forces of the Orchester National de France with his communicative energy.
