AGAO (Asociación Gayarre Amigos de la Ópera) presents “La Revoltosa” and “La verbena de la Paloma”, two of the most renowned zarzuelas of all time.

“La Revoltosa”, with a text by José López Silva and Carlos Fernández Shaw, was premiered in 1897 at the Apolo theater in Madrid and represents, together with “La verbena de la Paloma”, the pinnacle of the small genre. Both librettos are a faithful reflection of the neighborhood environments of the late nineteenth century and transfer to the stage all the feeling of the reality of Madrid in those years.

The performance features a cast of highly outstanding lyrical theater singers and actors accompanied by the Navarra Symphony Orchestra and the AGAO Choir, all of them directed by Maestro Jose Antonio Irastorza.

AGAO (Asociación Gayarre Amigos de la Ópera) presenta “La Revoltosa” y “La verbena de la Paloma”, dos de las zarzuelas más reconocidas de todos los tiempos.

“La Revoltosa”, con texto de José López Silva y Carlos Fernández Shaw fue estrenada en 1897 en el teatro Apolo de Madrid y supone, junto a “La verbena de la Paloma”, la cumbre del género chico. Ambos libretos son un fiel reflejo de los ambientes vecinales de finales del siglo XIX y trasladan a la escena todo el sentir de la realidad del Madrid de aquellos años.

La representación cuenta con un elenco de cantantes y actores altamente destacados del teatro lírico acompañados por la Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra y el Coro de AGAO, todos ellos dirigidos por el Maestro Jose Antonio Irastorza.
