During his own wedding party, the Postillion Chapelou received an offer that he couldn't refuse: the artistic director of the Royal Opera has heard his voice and predicts a bright future for him as a singer in Paris. He persuades the newlyweds to leave with him on the same day. How does Chapelou's wife Madeleine react? Does the postilion really have a great singing career?
