Georg Philipp Telemann, who created in the Baroque era, is not as recognizable as Johann Sebastian Bach or Antonio Vivaldi. However, he left an extensive oeuvre, which includes works of outstanding artistic quality. His works will be presented at the Wratislavia Cantans festival by excellent performers - the Arte dei Suonatori ensemble and soloists. The leitmotif of the concert is time, represented by a series of four short cantatas, collected under the common title Pory dni . However, this is not human, linear time, but nature's time - cyclical, representing the eternity and divinity of nature in comparison with human finitude.

Cycle of Cantatas Time of Daysounded for the first time in 1757 in Hamburg. In this work, the composer used the poetry of Justus Friedrich Wilhelm Zachariae. The piece is structured in an intriguing way. The first cantata, Der Morgen , opens with an orchestral introduction - Sinfonia , and then each time of the day has an analogous structure: the first aria describes the feelings associated with a given time, in the recitative the soloist presents a specific natural phenomenon, the second aria serves to affirm the creator responsible for the experienced beauty, and each the cantatas are crowned with a short hymn of praise sung by the choir. The times of the day are represented by a different solo voice and other accompanying instruments. In the Morning we will hear the soprano and the trumpet, in the South the alto and the viola da gamba, inTenor and two flutes in the evening , and bass, two oboes and a bassoon in the Night . The solo instruments used in the work also appear in excerpts from other compositions. In the first part of the concert, the lyrical Adagio from the Concerto in D major for trumpet

will be performed, as well as fragments of two pieces in which the viola da gamba is responsible for the narration. These will be the dynamic Vivace from the Second Fantasy in D major , intended for this solo instrument, and the dignified Sarabande , which is the third movement of the D major Suite . The second part of the concert will consist of an intriguing, timbre, four-part Concerto in A minorfor two flutes, bassoon and strings, as well as two movements from the Sonata in F minor for bassoon – the thoughtful Triste and the joyful Allegro .

Tworzący w epoce baroku Georg Philipp Telemann nie jest postacią tak rozpoznawalną jak Johann Sebastian Bach czy Antonio Vivaldi. Pozostawił jednak obszerny dorobek, w którym znajdują się dzieła o nieprzeciętnej jakości artystycznej. Jego utwory zaprezentują w ramach festiwalu Wratislavia Cantans znakomici wykonawcy – zespół Arte dei Suonatori i soliści. Motywem przewodnim koncertu jest czas, reprezentowany przez cykl czterech krótkich kantat, zebranych pod wspólnym tytułem Pory dnia. Nie jest to jednak czas ludzki, linearny, a czas natury – cykliczny, reprezentujący wieczność i boskość przyrody w porównaniu z ludzką skończonością.

Cykl kantat Pory dnia zabrzmiał po raz pierwszy w 1757 roku w Hamburgu. Kompozytor wykorzystał w tym dziele poezję Justusa Friedricha Wilhelma Zachariae. Utwór jest skonstruowany w intrygujący sposób. Pierwszą kantatę, Der Morgen, otwiera orkiestrowy wstęp – Sinfonia, następnie zaś każda pora dnia posiada analogiczną budowę: pierwsza aria opisuje uczucia związane z daną porą, w recytatywie solista prezentuje konkretne zjawisko naturalne, druga aria służy afirmacji stwórcy odpowiedzialnego za doświadczane piękno, a każdą z kantat wieńczy krótki hymn pochwalny śpiewany przez chór. Pory dnia reprezentowane są przez inny głos solowy i przez inne akompaniujące mu instrumenty. W Poranku usłyszymy sopran i trąbkę, w Południu alt i violę da gamba, w Wieczorze tenor i dwa flety, a w Nocy bas, dwa oboje i fagot. Wykorzystane w dziele instrumenty solowe pojawią się także w wyjątkach z innych kompozycji.

W pierwszej części koncertu wykonane zostaną liryczne Adagio z Koncertu D-dur na trąbkę oraz fragmenty dwóch utworów, w których ciężar prowadzenia narracji spoczywa na violi da gamba. Będą to dynamiczne Vivace z II Fantazji D-dur, przeznaczone na ten właśnie instrument solo, oraz pełna dostojeństwa Sarabanda, czyli trzecie ogniwo Suity D-dur. Na drugą część koncertu złożą się intrygujący pod względem barwy, czteroczęściowy Koncert a-moll na dwa flety, fagot i smyczki, a także dwa ogniwa z przeznaczonej na fagot Sonaty f-moll – pełne zadumy Triste oraz radosne Allegro.
