A l’occasion du centième anniversaire de la mort du compositeur (1858-1924) le Festival Opus-Opera de Gattières célèbre Puccini avec l’un de ses opéras : La Rondine. Moins connus que ses chefs-d’œuvre comme La Bohême ou Tosca, Puccini parvient à créer pour cette demande en 1914 du Carltheater de Vienne une partition certes mélancolique mais d’une élégance sublime.

De nombreux théâtres ont repris cet ouvrage en cette année de commémoration : Le Teatro filarmonico de Verona, la Scala de Milan, Le Metropolitan Opera de New-York (diffusion au cinéma en direct le 20 avril), le Volksoper de Vienne avant la production gattiéroise de cet été où l’on vous attend nombreux !
