Rigoletto - Interview d'Axel Ranisch, metteur en scène

Chef-d'œuvre de noirceur tiré d'une pièce sans grand succès de Victor Hugo, dont Verdi a pris soin de changer les personnages pour éviter la censure, Rigoletto triomphe à la Fenice de Venise en 1851. Il s'agit là du premier volet, très dense, de la trilogie verdienne prolongée par Le Trouvère et La Traviata. Toujours prompt à mettre une voix en avant, c'est le baryton que le compositeur met à l'honneur dans le rôle torturé du bouffon, condensé des contradictions de la condition humaine, ici confié à Roberto Frontali. La mise en scène est, elle, l'œuvre du metteur en scène et cinéaste berlinois Axel Ranisch qui confronte ici pour la première fois à une œuvre de Verdi son univers décalé, empreint de burlesque mélancolique, d'amour du cirque et de poésie trash. Nul doute que la rencontre de ces deux mondes artistiques devrait produire un résultat plein de surprises.
