A sua gravação integral (2017) de Les Troyens, de Berlioz, valeu-lhe os maiores elogios, voltando agora ao Grande Auditório para uma muito aguardada leitura de Romeu e Julieta, à frente do Coro e da Orquestra Gulbenkian. Award-winning American conductor John Nelson is one of the unequivocal names in music today, and is considered an authority in interpreting the works of Hector Berlioz. His complete recording (2017) of Les Troyens , by Berlioz, earned him the highest praise, and he has now returned to the Grand Auditorium for a long-awaited reading of Romeo and Juliet , in front of the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra. About Berlioz's music, the maestro says that it continues to sound new, “surprising us with each inflection with an unspeakable beauty”.
