Born in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Marie Smolka came to Germany at the age of 8, where she quickly learned the language, completed her high school diploma and studied pharmacology. In 2004, however, she decided to study the performing arts and went to Frankfurt / Main and began her vocal training with Prof. Hedwig Fassbender. The training was rounded off by Prof. Rudolf Piernay. Master classes with Helen Donath and Klesie Kelly Moog gave the soprano further musical and artistic impulses. While still a student, Marie Smolka was a guest at the Frankfurt Opera, the Wiesbaden State Theater, the Darmstadt State Theater, the Heidelberg Theater and the Saarland State Theater. Marie Smolka has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken since the 2018/20
