Biography
As a high mezzo (zwischenfach) Sofie Almroth performs roles such as Die Komponist (Strauss), Donna Elvira (Mozart) and Concepción with ease. She has performed amongst others Suor Genovieffa and La Ciesca (Puccini), both Flora and Annina (Puccini), Cherubino (Mozart), Hänsel (Humperdinck). Sofie Almroth had her debut as a concert singer already at the age of 17 in Arvo Pärt’s Passio and since then she is regularly employed as a concert and oratorio soloist. She studied musicology before being awarded her bachelors degree with honours from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2011. As a professional singer she also furthered her studies with courses at the highest level at the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
