Angelos Samartzis

The tenor Angelos Samartzis was born in Athens and raised in Rhodes. He studied singing and music theory at the Athenaeum Conservatory, as well as law at the University of Athens. He received his bachelor in opera singing from the Institute for Music Theater of the University of Music Karlsruhe, where he studied with Stephan Kohlenberg and Julia Varady. He continued his education as a Master’s student at the University of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin with Stephan Rügamer, Julia Varady and Peter Berne. He attended master classes under Raina Kabaivanska, Franco Farina, Jane Henschel, Cheryl Studer, Robert Dean Smith, Marlis Petersen, David L. Jones, Brian Zeger and Wolfram Rieger.
