He won the Secondo Concorso Internazionale di Canto Franco Corelli in Ancona. He made his debut at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata as Lindoro L’Italiana in Algeri, Conte Almaviva Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Don Ottavio Don Giovanni, before beginning a long association with the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires as Jacquino Fidelio. He has had strong links with a number of theatres, including the Staatsoper Hamburg, Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Wiener Volksoper (where he sang for several seasons), the Aalto Musiktheater Essen (where he began his European career, engaged by Stefan Soltesz) and, of course, the Teatro Colon where he has sung many roles.
