Margit is a Finnish opera singer who possesses a powerful and unique alto voice. Critics have described her voice as “exceptional and warm coloured with lots of dramatic performing power”. Margit has been widely heard in oratorios and chamber music concerts around Finland. She has sung alto solos in major works by Bach, Handel, Mahler and Mozart, as well as Vivaldi’s Gloria, Il Tramonto by Respighi, Rossini’s Stabat Mater among others, to great critical acclaim. Margit’s career launched at an early age when she won the Mustakallio competition for young talented singers and became the debutant of the year at the Savonlinna Opera festival in Finland.
