Biography
Paul Gaugler studied at the Strasbourg Conservatory, his native town, and graduated at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. Afterwards he joined the Academies of Ambronay and Royaumont and perfected his skills with Ludovic Tézier and Viorica Cortez. He won prizes in Vincenzo Bellini and Armel Opera competitions. As heroic tenor, he sang Radamès in Aïda and Pollione in Norma (Chisinau National Opera), Don José in Carmen (Lviv National Opera), Faust in La Damnation de Faust (revival at the Glyndebourne Festival), the title role Dante (Opéra de Saint-Étienne), Boris in Katia Kabanova, Grand prix du Syndicat de la Critique (Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Paris and tour), Siegfried in an adaptation of The Ring (Opéra de Reims, Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet, Paris),
