After having studied the bassoon, and being awarded First Prize at the Paris National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in the bassoon class of Gilbert Audin, Pierre Walter has improved his conducting skills. At the same conservatory, he gained a degree in the orchestral conducting class of Claire Levacher and François-Xavier Roth. He also studied musical culture, musical analysis and chamber music. Pierre Walter participated in conducting mastercourses and international academies with Maestri Aldo Faldi, Salvador Mas Conde, Kirill Karabits, Wolfgang Doerner and Dejan Savic His operatic debut took place in 2005, with a performance of La Traviata at the Orvieto Theatre in Italy.
