Romely Pfund

Romely Pfund studied piano and conducting in her native town of Dresden. She was prize winner of a conducting competition in Geneva and took part in the highly regarded conducting course in Tanglewood (USA) in 1986. Romely Pfund completed her education with leading figures in the world of conducting, including Kurt Masur, Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa and Gennadi Roshdestwenski. From 1987 to 1996 she was Generalmusikdirektorin (musical director) of the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie. She has conducted among others the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Dresdner Philharmonie and has given guest performances at the Komische Oper Berlin and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
