Alec Avedissian

During his studies at the Music Academy in Sofia, the Austro-Bulgarian baritone Alec Avedissian won several awards in singing competitions, including first prize in the Elena Nikolai and Pancho Vladigerov competitions and third prize in the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale competition. The collaboration with mezzo-soprano Alexandrina Milcheva had a formative influence on him. From 2007 to 2009, he was a member of the Centre National d’Artistes Lyriques in Marseille and toured to Toulouse, Marseille, Toulon, and Avignon. He attended masterclasses with Renato Bruson, Kiri Te Kanawa, and Anna Tomowa-Sintow, and currently receives vocal instruction from Sherman Lowe.
