Greek bass Alexandros Stavrakakis is the First Prize Winner of the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition, and is currently member of Semperoper Dresden, where his roles include Colline (La Bohème), Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Marchese d’Obigny (La traviata), High Priest of Baal (Nabucco), Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro) and Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), amongst others. During the 2019/20 season, Alexandros makes his house debut at Opera de Bordeaux as Prince Gudal (The Demon) and returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin as Count Rodolfo (La sonnambula). Last season Alexandros made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Basilio (Il barbière di Siviglia).
