Bio: Abramo Rosalen, bass, after graduating in organ began studying singing.
He collaborates with different groups and orchestras, both Italian and foreign.
He made his debut for the Venice Biennale in 2002 with the work of contemporary &ldquoBig Bang Circus” of Claudio Ambrosini, then performed at the Teatro Lirico of Trieste and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
At Teatro La Fenice of Venice he interpreted several times the Commendatore in "Don Giovanni", the opera “Il principe porcaro” of Nino Rota, the opera “L'Angelo e l'Aura”of Carlo De Pirro and the role of Frère Laurent in “Romeo et Juliette”. He interpreted this last role also in Teatro di Trento, Brescia, Cremona, Como and Pavia.
He had a great debut as Mustafa in “L'Italiana in Algeri” at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, a role he later performed also for Fondazione Arena of Verona, at the Teatro Fraschini of Pavia, at Teatro Grande of Brescia, at Teatro Ponchielli of Cremona, at Teatro Sociale of Como, at Teatro Coccia of Novara and at Teatro Alighieri of Ravenna.
Among recent engagements, he sang Oroveso in “Norma” on a tournée in France, Basilio in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Monterone in “Rigoletto” and the Gran Sacerdote di Belo in “Nabucco” at the Arena di Verona.
He has performed in Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro Comunale of Treviso, Teatro Sociale of Rovigo, Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, Teatro Sociale of Trento, Teatro Comunale of Ferrara, Teatro Rendano of Cosenza, Teatro Verdi of Salerno, Teatro Marrucino of Chieti, Teatro Verdi of Padua, Teatro Comunale of Treviso, Teatro Bonci of Cesena and at the Festival della Valle d'Itria of Martina Franca interpreting Ramfis in “Aida”, Padre Guardiano in “La Forza del Destino”, Zaccaria in “Nabucco”, Oroe in “Semiramide”, Don Magnifico in “Cenerentola”, Don Basilio in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Tobia Mill in “La cambiale di matrimonio”, Gaudenzio in "Il signor Bruschino", zio Bonzo in "Madama Butterfly", Leporello and the Commendatore in "Don Giovanni", Bartolo in "Le Nozze di Figaro", Sarastro in "Die Zauberflöte", Polyphemus in "Acis and Galatea" of Handel, Monterone and Sparafucile in "Rigoletto", Lusignano in "Zaira".
He also sang at Liceu in Barcelona, at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, at the Musikfest in Bremen, at the State Opera in Tirana, in the Slovak Republic, at Festival international d'opèra baroque, in Beaune, at mozartiana festiwal in Danzica, at ungarn festival in Sopron.
He has worked with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Julian Kovatchev, Renato Palumbo, Riccardo Frizza, Paolo Olmi, Nicola Luisotti, Alessandro De Marchi, Alberto Veronesi, Marcello Panni, Jonathan Webb, René Clemencic, Antonello Manacorda, Giampaolo Maria Bisanti, Carlo Montanaro, Filippo Maria Bressan, Michele Rovetta, Herbert Handt.
He has worked with directors such as Pierluigi Pizzi, Gianfranco de Bosio, Beppe de Tomasi, Maurizio Scapparo, Henning Brockhaus, Damiano Michieletto, Mariusz Trelinsky, Vizioli Stefano, Andrea Cigni, Aldo Tarabella, Luca Verdone, Beppe Menegatti, Francesco Esposito, Luca Ferraris, Marco Bellussi.
His repertoire also includes concert music both sacred and profane.
He performed several times J.S. Bach including the Mass in B minor, the "Johannes Passion" (Jesus), several cantatas and the Magnificat. He sang Verdi's "Messa da Requiem", Handel's "The Messiah", "Die Schöpfung" the"Caecilienmesse" and "Paukenmesse" of Haydn; "Krönungsmesse", "Great Mass in C minor" and the "Requiem" of Mozart.
Moreover he interpreted the "Symphony n.9" of Beethoven; the "Stabat Mater", "Messa da Gloria" and "Petite messe solennelle" of Rossini, "Ein Deutsches Requiem" of J. Brahms, "Te Deum" of Charpentier, "Vespro della Beata Vergine" and "Il Ballo delle Ingrate" (Plutone) of Monteverdi, "Betulia liberata" (Achior) of Mozart. He has performed with the Orchestra Verdi in Sacrae Symphoniae for choir and orchestra of Flavio Testi at the Auditorium Cariplo Foundation in Milan.
With the Barocco Europeo of Sacile he has deepened the interesting repertoire for bass cantatas and motets, sacred and profane of Monteverdi, Stradella, Caldara, Handel and other composers.
Recently he sang zio Bonzo in "Madama Butterfly" at Teatro San Carlo In Neaples and at Teatro Comunale in Ferrara.
Among his future engagements: zio Bonzo at Teatro Verdi of Padua and the Four Demons in "Les Contes d'Hoffmann" in Pavia, Cremona, Brescia, Como and Jesi.
