He will also be the bass soloist in Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio with l’Orchestre Classique de Montréal. Unfortunately, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, his June 9, 2020 performance of Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with Le Choeur Classique de Montréal was cancelled and his February 25-28, 2021 Toronto Symphony Orchestra Debut, as Sparafucile in Rigoletto has just been postponed to a later season. Following two public Masterclasses that he gave at the Voice Faculty of the University of Toronto last year, bass Alain Coulombe was reinvited to UofT as Guest Music Instructor during the winter 2020 semester. Although the semester came to an abrupt stop due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he truly enjoyed his new role as voice teacher and mentor to a very talented new generation of classical singers.
