Biography
Mezzosoprano Alexandra von Roepke, who hails from Berlin was on her way to become an actress at The Volksbühne Berlin, when she rather randomly discovered her voice. She then spent 12 years in Italy, where she studied at the world renowned Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome finishing her studies with some of the highest academic and artistic honours. Alexandra supplemented her studies at the Conservatorio by studying with the incomparable mezzo soprano Christa Ludwig, Adriana Bono and Sergio Oliva, music director at the Rome Teatro dell’Opera . Alexandra von Roepke has been seen in many productions in Germany recently, including Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Maria de Buenos Aires, La finta giardiniera, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Cavalleria Rusticana, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, Der Z
