Biography
French-Dutch soprano Barbara Kits earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and a Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from Mannes School of Music in New York, where she was a member of the Mannes Opera Young Artist. In addition she participated and worked for the International Vocal Arts Institute in Israel, the USA and Canada, and the Accademia Europa dell'Opera. In 2023 she made her debut in the role of Fiordiligi (Cosí fan Tutte, Mozart) at the Opéra de Toulon, under the baton of Karel Deseure. Barbara was a finalist at the 2019 International Competition Nuits Lyriques of Marmande in the category Mélodie Française and a prize winner at the CantoFest vocal competition. She was also a recipient of the Dean's merit based scholarship at Mannes School of Music and a
