Bernd Krispin completed his studies in musicology and German philology at the Karl-Franzens-University in his hometown Graz with a diploma thesis on Franz Schubert's "Alfonso and Estrella". Since 1991/92 he has worked as dramaturge at the Graz Opera, among others with Johannes Erath ("Lohengrin", "Die tote Stadt"), Tatjana Gürbaca ("Rigoletto"), Frank Hilbrich ("Königskinder"), Philipp Himmelmann ("Wozzeck") , Eva-Maria Höckmayr (“The Abduction from the Seraglio”), Florentine Klepper (“Norma”), Peter Konwitschny (including “Aida”, “Macbeth”, “Falstaff”, “La Traviata” and “Jenůfa”), Stephen Lawless (“Wilhelm Tell”), Christof Loy, Holger Müller-Brandes (“King Roger”), Christian Pöppelreiter, Gabriele Rech, GH Seebach (“Boulevard Solitude”), Christian Thausing (“Anatevka”) and Gerald Thomas (
