Bio: Caroline Vitale works as a freelance mezzo-soprano, she appears as a soloist in operas, gives concerts and recitals, works as a singing teacher and conceives her own music projects with various partners. At the Lucerne Theater, where she plays major roles in her field, such as the title role in Handel's Oreste, Dinah in Bernsteins Trouble in Tahiti, Charlotte (Werther), Idamante (Idomeneo), Nicklausse (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice) , Concepción (L'Heure espagnole), Dejanira (Hercules), Giovanna Seymour in Donizetti's Anna Bolena or Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream), she was part of the ensemble in the season 20/21. She was nominated as best singer by the magazine "Opernwelt". After her first permanent engagement in Trier, she was associated with the Mainz State Theater as an ensemble member, where she made her debut as Octavian, Cherubino, Dorabella, Mère Marie and Carmen with great success. She also sang the role of Carmen at theaters in Freiburg, Gelsenkirchen and Aachen. Caroline Vitale has received invitations to various festivals such as Bad Kissinger Sommer, Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Opéra St. Moritz and the Lucerne Festival. She has performed with conductors such as Peter Maag, Nello Santi, Karl Anton Rickenbacher, Ralf Weikert, Franz Welser-Möst, Sébastien Rouland, Sascha Goetzel, Nicolàs Pasquet, François Pantillon, John Axelrod, James Gaffigan and Howard Arman. Various CD productions, such as a recording of songs by the Russian Nicolai Medtner, the B minor Mass by JSBach or a composer portrait by Father Theo Flury are available. The Swiss singer received her training at the Lucerne School of Music and at the International Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera, where she appeared in various roles. She received the study prize for singing from the Ernst Göhner Foundation Switzerland as well as a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association Trier and was the winner of the international singing competition "Toti dal Monte" in Italy. She attended master classes with Hilde Zadek (Vienna), Udo Reinemann (Amsterdam), Giovanna Canetti (Milan) and Margreet Honig (Amsterdam).
