Bio: Soprano Cornelia Zink, who grew up in Ludwigsburg, began her vocal studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, which she graduated with distinction. This gave her first permanent engagement at the Cottbus State Theater, where she was part of the ensemble from 2005-2014. There she received the Max Grünebaum Prize for her exceptional achievements, awarded by the foundation of the same name.
Since then, Cornelia Zink has worked as a freelancer and is a welcome guest at the Hamburg State Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, Braunschweig State Theater, Hanover State Opera, Winterthur Theater, St.Gallen, Mörbisch Festival, Classionata Solothurn, Osnabrück Theater and Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich. From 2017-2019 she was an ensemble member at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where she will also be a guest in the upcoming season as Gretel in "Hansel and Gretel".
Her repertoire includes Lucia di Lammermoor, Violetta, Antonia, Despina, Musetta, Cunegonde, Pamina, Schöne Helena, Adele, Laura, Marianne (stories from the Wienerwald, German premiere in 2015, Komische Oper Berlin), Marie (Liliom, world premiere) 2016, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich), Helmwige, Wellgunde and Waldvogel.
Her rich concert repertoire includes Bach's B minor Mass and St. Matthew Passion, Mendelssohn's Elias, Haydn's Creation and Seasons, Orff's Carmina Burana, as well as works by Mozart, Brahms, Casals, Handel and Mahler.
The CD recordings of Ziehrer's "The Three Wishes" (2008) and Zeller's "Der Obersteiger" (2009) were also made in the Schönbrunn Palace Theater in Vienna. As part of the 2013 Seefestspiele Mörbisch a CD and live DVD from "Der Bettelstudent" and in 2017 the live DVD from "Der Vogel retailer" with Cornelia Zink in the leading role.
