Bio: Franz Xaver Schlecht comes from Oberspeiching and was a member of the Bavarian Singing Academy before starting his vocal studies with Jan Hammar at the Nuremberg University of Music in Augsburg in 2003. He continued his vocal training in the singing class of Prof. Hans-Joachim Beyer at the University of Music and Theater Leipzig, where he graduated in 2009 with a diploma. He then completed postgraduate studies with Prof. Leandra Overmann at the University of Music in Würzburg. Franz Xaver Schlecht received important impulses from master classes with Simon Estes and Ks. Franz Grundheber, since 2010 the young baritone has been supervised by Maria Janina Hake in Munich. During his studies, Franz Xaver Schlecht made his debut as Haly in Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri at the Augsburg and Ingolstadt theaters. Other guest engagements included him as Figaro in a children's version of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Leipzig Opera and the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg, where he made his debut as Silvano in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera . With the game of Vershinin in Tri SestriHe made his Peter Eötvös debut in 2011 in a production by Rosamund Gilmore and under the musical direction of Julien Salemkour at the Berlin State Opera in the Schillertheater. In 2012 Franz Xaver Schlecht played the role of Professor Walter Spieß at the Heidelberg City Theater in the premiere of Schubert's adaptation of The Thousand Years Posten or Germanist by Irene Dische and Elfride Jelinek , directed by Andrea Schwalbach and under the musical direction of Dietger Holm. In addition to the opera roles such as Conte Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro , Dandini in Rossini's La Cenerentola or the title role in L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi, Franz Xaver Schlecht developed his own song and aria programs and performed with free ensembles. In the Carl-Orff-Saal in Munich's Gasteig, he was directed in 2013 by Hector Guedes and the Other Opera Ensemble as the main actor in the opera collage Orpheus . In summer 2014 he was a guest of Prince Albert in Rieke Reiniger's The Robbery of Prince Hugo at the Sondershausen Palace Festival. In September 2014 he made his debut as Don Alfonso in a well-known production by MozartCosì fan tutte at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart; this staging was also shown on the Berlin radial system in February 2015. The baritone made his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in May 2015 in Hoffmann von Offenbach / Champert, at the Thuringian Festival in Sondershausen he could be seen as Morales in Carmen and again as Prince Albert in The Robbery of Prince Hugo . Franz Xaver Schlecht made his debut with the role of Kilian in the new production of Der Freischütz at the cathedral stage festival of the Erfurt Theater .
