Gerardo Garciacano

Gerardo Garciacano trained at Indiana University in Bloomington and at the studio of the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg. The Mexican baritone has made a name for himself with the most important roles in the lyric repertoire, among others Dandini, Malatesta, Mercutio, Conte in Le nozze di Figaro, Nardo in La finta gardiniera and Frank/Fritz in Die Tote Stadt. At Oper Köln he sang Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Guglielmo and Papageno. In 2009 he starred as Schaunard in La Bohème im Hochhaus, a coproduction of ARTE and Swiss Television SF1 (available on DVD). At Theater Dortmund he performed Guglielmo, Marcello, Lescaut in Massenet’s Manon, Conte in Le nozze di Figaro, Belcore, Posa in Don Carlo, Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Germont, Argante in Rinaldo and Don Giovanni.
