Hirofumi Yoshida Orchestra conductor Hirofumi Yoshida was born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1968 and raised in Funabashi. He graduated from the Tokyo College of Music, where he specialized in piano, contrabass, musicology and conducting. Between 1994 and 1995, Yoshida moved to Vienna, where he obtained a master’s degree at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna). In 1996, he obtained an Advanced Music master’s degree at the Chigiana Academy of Music in Siena, with masters Juri Temirkanov and Myung-Whun Chung. In August of the same year, he attended a conducting course in Lugano, organized by the Master Players Association, and was the winner of the 19th edition.
