Biography
German mezzo-soprano Inga Schäfer has been a member of the ensemble at the Freiburg Theater since the 2017/18 season. There she made her debut as Muse / Nicklausse in Les Contes d´Hoffmann, Varvara in Katja Kabanowa, Harper Pitt / Ethel Rosenberg in Angels in America , Mother / Other Mother in Coraline , Olga in Eugen Onegin , Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni , Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande , Meg Page in Falstaff , Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw and as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro. At the Federal Competition Berlin 2018 she was awarded the prize for new music. In 2017 she won the sponsorship award at the Anneliese Rothenberger competition on the island of Mainau. As a permanent member of the SWR vocal ensemble, she expanded her repertoire of contempor
