Bio: Swiss soprano Jardena Flückiger began her musical training at the Mädchenkantorei in her home town of Basel. Later she was accepted at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel where she studied with Prof. Verena Schweizer and completed her postgraduate studies with distinction. In 2009 she was accepted at the Universität der Künste Berlin and studied voice with Prof. Julie Kaufmann and Lied with Eric Schneider and Prof. Axel Bauni. She received her master’s degree in Berlin in opera in 2011. During her studies she participated in vocal master classes with Hans Peter Blochwitz, Elisabeth Glauser, Malin Hartelius and Margreet Honig. On the concert platform Jardena Flückiger has performed at the Berlin Konzerthaus. In the Stadtcasino of Basel she was the soloist in Beethoven’s Egmont under the direction of Simon Gaudenz for the Collegium Musicum Basel. 2008 she sang the premiere of „PRAHA: Maiselova-Celetna-Karlova“ composed by Jakob Ullmann and conducted by Jürg Henneberger at the Forum Neuer Musik in Cologne (Deutschlandfunk). During her studies Jardena Flückiger made her debut as Lenka in „Die Dickköpfe“ by Antonín Dvořák at the Atelier Teatre Meilen- Zürich as well as Christel in „Der Vogelhändler“ by Carl Zeller at the Fricktaler Operettenbühne. 2010 she sang Amor in Gluck’s „Orfeo ed Eurydice“ at the Schlosstheater Rheinsberg. Other performed operatic roles iclude Berenice in „L`Occasione fa il Ladro“ (Rossini), Norina in “Don Pasquale” (Donizetti), Blanche in „Les Dialogues des Carmélites“ (Poulenc) and Baronin in „Der Wildschütz“ (Lortzing). She worked together with Mira Ebert, Karoline Gruber and Frank Hilbrich. In the last repertory season she gave her debut as Flower maiden in “Parsifal” at the Theater Freiburg. 2013 she was member of the International Operaworkshop with Peter Konwitschny. At the Swiss premiere of the original version of Rossini`s opera “La Gazzetta” played at the St Moritz Opera Festival 2014, Jardena Flückiger will sing the role of Lisetta.
