Bio: Jonatan Lönnqvist is an opera singer, voice teacher and choir conductor. He received his training at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Mannes College of Music and Mediterranean Opera Studio.
He made his debut in 2007 as Torgny, Dalason and Kantor in the remake of the 18th century buffa "Kronofogdarne & Slåtterölet" at Opera at Skäret. He has then returned to Opera at Skäret for several years. At Läckö Castle he created the roles of the Painter in "Magnus Gabriel" by Daniel Börtz and Baron Stjerne in Daniel Fjellström's opera "Det går an".
Jonatan has performed standard repertoire such as Don Basilio in "The Marriage of Figaro" and Spoletta in "Tosca" . He has also been employed in the opera chorus at Malmö Opera, Folkoperan (Stockholm) and the Royal Opera in Stockholm. As well as the Swedish Radio Choir and the Eric Ericson's Chamber Choir.
Among scholarships he has received are the Fulbright Commission, the Anders Sandrew Foundation, the Linköping Municipality's Cultural Award and the County Council of Östergötland's Cultural Award.
