Biography
The soprano Maria Demerus is born, raised and educated in Stockholm, Sweden (University College of Opera in Stockholm - Master programme in vocal performance). She has been acknowledged for her interpretations of demanding soprano parts within the opera repertoire on different stages in Sweden, such as Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore (Donizetti), Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera (Mozart), Helena in A Midsummer Nights Dream (Britten). Maria is also specialized on church music, Lieder and chamber music, and therefore a very frequently engaged concert- and oratorio singer. She has a broad repertoire from early to contemporary music.
