Auch gesanglich bewegte sich der Abend auf großem Niveau. Cornelia Zink war eine Agathe zum Niederknien. In ihrer Arie „Wie nahte mir der Schlummer“ konnte sie den Farbreichtum und das lyrisch dramatische Kolorit ihrer Ausnahmestimme glänzend entfalten. Ihr leuchtender und zum Teil schon ins Dramatische tendierender Sopran bestach durch eine warme Tiefe, eine runde Mittellage und eine leuchtend und frei schwingende Höhe. Mit dramatischer Emphase und innwendiger Rolleninterpretation nahm sie für sich ein.

A good choice in these heated times to put this opera on the repertoire, which stands for humanity, reconciliation, steadfastness and free thinking like no other. Stage designer Sarah-Katharina Karl creates a stage design between romance and minimalism with lengths of fabric and light. Marius Pallesen sang the role of Tamino with a powerful tenor. Morgane Heyse shone as Queen of the Night. Pamina was sung by the soprano Cornelia Zink, oscillating in nuances between love and pain."
