Bio: Niclas Oettermann is a graduate from State Conservatory at Trossingen, Germany where he graduated in 1996. He studied with Julia Hamari, Bruno Canino, Aloys Kontarsky, Leonard Hokanson, Carlo Bergonzi, Franco Corelli, Ion Buzea und Bruno Pola.In 1995 he won the Sylvia-Geszty-Competion.In 1993 he gave his stage debut as the tenor main role &ldquoHeurtebise” in the European premier of Philip Glass’ opera Orphée conducted by Dennis R. Davies and supported by the composer himself.He was working in Bonn, Germany during the season 1996/97. From 1997 to 2001 he was lead tenor at the State Opera House at Meiningen, Germany , where he sang Nemorino in Elisir d’Amore, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Duca in Rigoletto and Tamino in the Magic Flute (die Zauberflöte) (stage director: Brigitte Fassbaender)Niclas Oettermann has sung over 30 lead parts. He has been working in such various places as Hamburg, Weimar, Braunschweig, Chemnitz, Saarbrücken, Oldenburg, Lucerne, Basilea, Gent, Antwerp and Biel/Bienne. It was at the latter Biel/Bienne where he head a major impact on bringing to stage Les Contes d’Hoffmann.In 2002 he had a special engagement in Japan, where, conducted by Rudolf Werthen, he sang Cavaradossi in Tosca.He has been collaborating with well known directors such as Jeffrey Tate, Renato Palumbo, Eugene Cohn, Klaus Weise, Oleg Caetani and Lothar Zagrosek.Special appearences include the title role of Bellini’s Il Pirata on the side of Michelle Crider, Das Rheingold with Franz Hawlata.He had engagements for concerts at the Baden-Baden Music Summer, the Kunsthaus and Lindenhof Zürich, the Classic Open Air at Solothurn and the International Festival of Chiemgau as well as the Aargau Cultural Summer..He had a live appearance on Swiss TV channels (DRS/TSR/TSI) for the Expo 02 in Switzerland as well as at the KKL Lucerne.2005 was marked by a series of opera galas with the Nord West Deutsche Philharmonie which were a continuation of the opera gala with José Cura and Anna NetrebkoThe same year Niclas Oettermann was invited guest soloist at Ingrid Flick Charity Gala on Lake Wörthersee and at the Residenz, Munich.Niclas Oettermann had many performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Raymond Gubbays Classical Spectacular in places like Vienna, Zuerich, Munich, Hamburg, Hannover, Cologne and Stuttgart.From 2009 - 2012 he sang several roles in Opera of Bern: Riccardo in Ballo in Maschera, Paul in Die Tote Stadt, Prince in L'amour des trois oranges, Tom Rakewell and Erik in Der fliegende Holländer.In Wuppertal Opera he was Max in Der Freischütz, in Pforzheim he sang Hoffmann, Riccardo and CavaradossiIn Chemnitz Opera he sang in 2014/15 Paul in die Tote Stadt and title role of Otello by VerdiIn Summer 2015 he sang Hoffmann in festival of Immling.Recently he sang Tote Stadt in Magdeburg and Csárdásfürstin in Augsburg.
