Bio: He earned a degree in orchestra conducting at the Bologna National Conservatory and at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, in Piano and in Choral Conducting at the Adria National Conservatory (Italy). Nicola studied composition with Roberto Sansuini and specialised in orchestra and choir conducting with M° Filippo Maria Bressan (Italian Youth Choir), M˚Piero Bellugi (Florence Symphonietta) and M˚Giancarlo Andretta.
He is the permanent conductor and artistic director of "Orchestra Giovanile della Saccisica" and guest conductor of « Orchestra Nazionale Artes ». Over the last few years he has collaborated with Florence Symphonyetta (Italy), Seoul Proart Orchestra (Seoul, Korea), Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto (Italy), Orchestre de Nimes at the roman Arena of Nimes-France (roman amphitheatre), choir and orchestra Anima Una of Minsk (Belarus), the orchestra of the theatre « Società italiana » of Lobos (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
He conducted Carmina Burana (orchestral version) in Teatro Verdi of Padua and Palazzo Ducale of Revere - Mantova , La Serva Padrona at Palazzo Zuckerman of Padova and La Traviata at Pyeongtaek Art Center and at Jinju Art Center (South-Korea), « l’Elisir d’amore » by Donizetti (Theatres of Padova and Bassano del Grappa - Italy), « La cambiale di matrimonio » by Rossini at Teatro Argentino de La Plata (Argentina) and « Il Barbiere di Siviglia » (Theatres of Padova and Bassano del Grappa - Italy).
M˚ Simoni has worked as assistant conductor of Antonino Fogliani, Filippo Maria Bressan, Julien Masmondet, Erik Hull for the operas: Il Filosofo di Campagna by Galuppi at Piccolo Festival del Friuli Venezia Giulia, La Cenerentola by Rossini at Opéra de Rouen, Gianni Schicchi by Puccini at Teatro Verdi of Trieste, Der Fliegende Hollander by Warger at Opéra de Rouen, Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini at Opéra de Dijon, Turandot by Puccini at Festival de Sanxay, Madama Butterfly by Puccini at Opéra de Lille, La Boheme by Puccini at Opéra de Antwepen, Maria Stuarda at Opéra de Montecarlo.
He collaborates as artistic director with associations and municipalities (Artes Italia, Monselice, Selvazzano Dentro, Montegrotto Terme). Nicola is also the artistic director of the International Lyric Academy of Padova (Italy).
Conductor Simoni has given masterclasses for choir and has lectured about 17th century Venetian choral music at the National Academy of Music of Minsk (Belarus), the "Provincia de Buenos Aires" (Argentina), the Gyeongsang National University (Korea) and at the Iksan musical high school (Korea).
He is main professor of “Formation musicale” and conductor of the orchestra of the Conservatoire Départemental of Nîmes (France).
