Bio: Born in Bremen Nina Kupczyk is a theatre and film director and author. Up to now she has directed and produced for Radio Bremen, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg (Des Kindes Mozart), at the theatre in Kiel the children’s opera „La figlia del Mago“ (DE), at the Hamburg State Opera House „The Kaiser from Atlantis“, Amadeus Superstar (direction and text) at the Monsun-Theatre Hamburg and at the Theater unterm Dach Berlin, „Vanitas“ by Salvatore Sciarrino (Hamburg Stateopera 2013) , “Cosi fan tutte“ in Opernloft Hamburg (2014/15), „Was ein Prophet auch künde“ a scenic cycle to poems by Daniil Charms (Hamburg Stateopera 2013), as well as various choir projects in Hamburg and Berlin. “Peer Gynt 2.0“ (text and direction) had its premiere at the Philharmonie Luxemburg in December in 2014 and „Vivaldi’s letzter Tanz“ (direction and text) with the grammy winning Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg in March 2015. She shot, together with Studio Hamburg, the cinematic art film „Des Kindes Mozart_sotto voce.in der Nacht“, an „important piece of work demonstrating a theatre in film“ and which was so important that the Board of Film Classification Wiesbaden honoured it with a „Prädikat“ and it was shown at film festivals in Konstanz and Oberhausen as well as the Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Since 1995 Nina Kupczyk has published various texts in magazines and anthologies (Federwelt, Worthandelverlag, S. Fischer-Verlag, Athena-Verlag). Her texts were broadcast by various Radio Broadcasting Corporations (Nordwestradio, Deutschlandfunk). In 2000 she was invited to the Bookexpo Chicago with her novel „The Lehrer und das Wunderkind“. In 2005 the lyric and prose volume „Aus der verbotenen Stadt“ was published. ln 2013 „Liebe und andere Ungereimheiten“ by Athena-Verlag, in 2015 „Die Kunst der Empathie“ by Akademiker Verlag. Nina Kupczyk received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association, the Music and Theatre College Hamburg, and the International Forum des „Berliner Theatertreffens“. Nina Kupczyk studied opera direction and multimedial composition at the College for Music and Theatre Hamburg under Peter Konwitschny, Calixto Bieito, Wolfgang Willaschek and studied Psychology at Bremen University. She sat in/assisted, among others, by Peter Konwitschny, Werner Schroeter und Andreas Homoki at the Bremen theatre, Hamburg State Operahouse and Komische Oper Berlin. She completed her studies with Direction Master courses by Peter Konwitschny. In repertory season 2015/2016 there are the following premieres: „Der Zauberlehrling“ (October), „Sterntaler“ (December) , „Aschenputtel“ (german, french) in February 2016 in co-production with Festival Lucerne, In saison 2016/2017 there are the following premieres: six productions of the winning brand by the philharmonie luxembourg „Loopino“ with international musicians like Anneleen Lenaerts (Vienna Philharmonic), the Armida Quartet (ARD International Competition in 2012) and Asya Fateyeva ( Echo 2016) and the new creation of „Der Nussknacker“ with the grammy winning Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg in december 2016. In saison 2017/2018 there are following premieres: 5 productions of „Loopino“ (french and luxemburgish) and the new opera for children „pinocchio“ with music by Gordon Kampe and text by nina kupczyk.
