Biography
Georgian tenor Otar Jorjikia is the recipient of several prestigious prizes such as first prize at the 2016 Galina Vishnevskaya International Opera Singer’s Competition. Since graduating from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 2013, Otar has made numerous house debuts at Opernhaus Zürich, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Polish National Opera, Lithuanian National Opera and Opera Australia. Otar is in high demand as a guest artist of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres. During the 2019/20 season, Otar returns to Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse as Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Mariinsky Theatre as Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) and Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera), Opera Australia as Don José (Carmen), and Opernhaus Zürich as Ismaele (Nabucco).
