Bio: PAOLA CIGNA Italian Soprano Paola Cigna studied voice with Jolanda Meneguzzer. She got her degree “cum laude” at the Conservatorio “Luigi Cherubini” in Florence under Walter Alberti. Between 1994 and 1997 she won prizes at the following competitions: “Lina Pagliughi” in Cesena, “Tito Schipa” in Lecce, “Prima Scrittura” in Florence, “Francisco Viňas ”in Barcelona and “Leyla Gencer” in Istambul. In 1996 she gave her debut at the “Teatro Comunale” in Modena with Francesco Gnecco's “La prova di un'opera seria” and at the Theatre in Lille and “Opera Comique” in Paris with Vivaldi's “Juditha thriumpans” conducted by J.C. Malgoire. She sang, among others, at the Teatro “La Scala” in Milan, Teatri Comunali of Bologna and Modena, Teatro “Donizetti” in Bergamo, Teatro “Verdi” at Busseto, Teatro “Carlo Felice” in Genova, “S. Carlo” in Naples, Teatro de “L'Opera giocosa” at Savona, Teatro “Civico” at La Spezia, Teatro at Imperia, Teatro of Biella , Teatro in Vercelli, Teatro “Alighieri” in Ravenna, “Lingotto” in Torino, Teatro “Niccolini” and “La Pergola” in Florence, Teatro “Del Giglio” in Lucca, Teatro “La Gran Guardia” and “Goldoni” in Livorno, Teatro “Politeama Pratese” in Prato, Teatro “Piccinni” and at the “Castello Svevo” in Bari for the season of the “Petruzzelli” in Bari, Teatro “Verdi” in Sassari, Teatro “Astra” at Bassano del Grappa, Teatro “Pergolesi” at Jesi, Teatro “dell’Aquila” at Fermo, Teatro “A.
